Mitchell & Kenyon - Manchester and Salford Collection
Mitchell & Kenyon's archival footage of Edwardian England return to Cornerhouse for this special programme of films of Manchester and Salford. The programme will be narrated by Mitchell & Kenyon Collection curator, Vanessa Toulmin and accompanied by specially commissioned scores from RNCM students, performed by fellow students joining Neil Brand on the piano.

Nothing Like the Sun
Music, Sonnets and Film from Opera North and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
In this brand new work for eight musicians and three voices, Gavin Bryars' music flows through and around a personal selection of Shakespeare's sonnets. In the first half individual sonnets are set by guest composers including Alexander Balanescu, Antony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons) and Natalie Merchant. The evening is accompanied by a specially commissioned film and is musically directed by James Holmes.
